West Point Virginia Nightlife

The city of West Point has a long and unique history, which is related to the development of railroads in the Richmond, York River and York County, Virginia area. The trains were a miraculous advent and soon West Point became a thriving commercial port and holiday destination. Due to its deep-water port, it became an important hub for merchants, shipping and travel. In the 1870s, it became a city incorporated, and passengers bought annual tickets daily and quarterly. In the 1880s, the Richmond-York-River Railroad Company built a 39-mile railway line to receive strategically important supplies from the Civil War, the first of its kind in 1881.

While the trains brought thousands of wealthy people to the Terminal Hotel, other popular destinations and locations opened their doors, including the West Point Hotel and the New York - York River Hotel.
