Since joining Terrell in 2015, she has worked in general, emergency and specialist practices. Nicole works as a veterinarian and works in general as well as in emergency practice with the emphasis on animal health, animal care and animal welfare.
After graduating from the Vet Tech Institute in 2011, she worked as an external at the University of Pittsburgh Veterinary Center in Pittsburgh, PA. After moving to the Pittsburgh area, Dr. Hurst worked in a private practice for two years before joining the faculty. Amy is a senior veterinary technician at Terrell Veterinary Hospital in West Point, Virginia, specializing in animal health, animal welfare and animal care.
Dr. Van Zwieten studied veterinary pathology at what is now Angell Animal Medical Center before being certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 1974. He made the jump to veterinary medicine after moving to Massachusetts to attend the University of Massachusetts Medical School and graduating with honors in 1985. She holds a Bachelor's degree in law from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA and an M.A. from Harvard University in Boston.
He worked as a general practitioner in Virginia Beach, VA, where he gained extensive experience in medical and surgical procedures. After moving to Pennsylvania to be closer to his family, he spent a year as an assistant professor of veterinary medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in Mahoning Valley before moving to the Vet Tech Institute faculty. He began volunteering at West Point Veterinary Medical Center in 2010 and graduated from the veterinary school in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine and a master's degree in veterinary science in 2015. She enjoys working in the community through her work with the Animal Welfare League of West Point and enjoys volunteering with other local organizations such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
He was the founder of Severna Park Veterinary Hospital and subsequently founded two other practices in the area, including Benfield Village Veterinary Hospital. He has been practicing veterinary medicine for more than 40 years, first in Baltimore before moving to Atlanta in 1976 and opening the VCA Terrell Mill Animal Hospital. His experience includes training at the Veterinary Medical Center of Atlanta, the University of Georgia Medical School and the Atlanta Veterinary Meeting. Kathy is licensed by the State of Indiana to perform veterinary medicine and was born in Indiana with a bachelor's degree in veterinary sciences from Indiana State University and a master's degree in veterinary sciences from Purdue University.
Dr. Garvey is the only veterinarian appointed by the New York City Department of Health and Human Services Veterinary Medical Center, and was also a veterinarian for the New York Police Department. He owns and manages a large veterinary practice, which is also located in Western Friendship, as well as his own veterinary practice, the Veterinary Clinic Eastern Friendship. He has also been a mobile veterinarian for more than 30 years, most recently as the chief of veterinary services at Sigourney, Iowa veterinary clinics, which serve the surrounding counties of Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and Sioux City.
Dr. Garvey is a member of the New York Department of Health and Human Services Veterinary Medical Center and has been a diplomat at the American College of Veterinary Radiology for nearly 30 years. Dr. Rebekah Clermont, Medical Director, graduated from North Carolina State University and subsequently earned her veterinary degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After reaching the rank of colonel in the Army Reserve, she is the chief of veterinary services for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in West Point, Virginia.
